So when a character loses their heart, it’s probably SAFER for the other toons to just…forget they existed. Think about it, how would you act if you fund out displeasing an audience would land you in some horrible place where you’ll spend eternity? How would you act if you knew you existed only to entertain others? If you knew all your troubles in life were caused by writers looking to add spice to your story? If all the characters knew they could disappear at any moment if the audiences they don’t even know exist* suddenly stop liking or remembering them, there would be CHAOS, mental anguish, etc. So basically, there might be some sort of magic preventing characters from noticing when another loses their heart. Petes, alternate versions of characters, and stuff like that.
